Here are pictures of the most visible grizzly bear family seen in Yellowstone
in 2000 and 2001. The Sow is named Obsidian. The pictures on the left are of the family in Spring of 2000. The pictures on
the right are of the same family taken in the Spring of 2001. They were visible both years right off the road around Roaring
Mountain. This was Obsidian's third set of cubs and her first set of cubs to survive the first year. Pictures at bottom of page are of the two "cubs" in Spring 2002 about one week after Mom kicked them out of the
Den.
